How to set it up
Go to your Offer Library
Navigate to Offers Library and click New Offer. Select Volume Discount as the offer type.
Define your tiers
Start with 3 tiers: Buy 2 save 10%, Buy 3 save 15%, Buy 4+ save 20%. These ranges work well as a starting point for most categories.
Set eligible products
Apply to your best-selling product first. Once validated, expand to a product collection.
Activate the offer
Toggle the offer to Active. It will automatically apply to eligible carts through the Shopify discount function.
A/B test the thresholds
Run an Offer Test with control (no discount) vs your volume tiers to quantify the exact AOV and revenue lift.
Pro tips
- Show a visual tier chart on the product page so customers know what they're working toward.
- Margins permitting, make tier 3 feel like the obvious best-value choice.
- Test whether showing the savings in dollars (Save $12) vs. percent (Save 15%) performs better.
- Exclude products already on sale to protect margin.
